Listening process

A Next Gen Penn State Advisory Group was named as part of a process to seek valuable stakeholder input and guide community involvement in helping to identify the critical qualities needed in selecting Penn State’s next leader. This process will inform the search led by a Presidential Recruitment and Selection Committee co-chaired by Trustees David Kleppinger* and Julie Anna Potts.

The Next Gen Penn State listening phase in spring 2021 engaged University stakeholders in providing feedback to identify the desired qualities and qualifications for Penn State’s next president. As we move ahead to find the University’s next leader — one who will engage our community in developing a strong vision forward to ensure the ongoing excellence and high-quality education that is a hallmark of our institution — the Next Gen Penn State process is critical.

The Next Gen Penn State Advisory Group considered the input received through this process and prepared and submitted a publicly available report to the Presidential Recruitment and Selection Committee, which will help inform their selection of the next Penn State president.
